Why is boxing insurance essential?

Boxing exposes you to repeated trauma : concussions, nose or phalanx fractures, eye injuries, muscle tears. Sparring and club demonstrations, even without official competition, carry real risks. A federation licence or club membership does not always cover heavy costs for surgery or long rehab.

At AXEOSPORT, we offer a personal accident insurance dedicated to boxers, valid for training and sparring, in England and abroad. For competition (amateur or pro fights), add the Competition option.

The price depends on your options, your departure country and the number of days of cover. Get your free online quote in two clicks. The Competition option is only needed if you fight in official competition.

Our personal accident insurance protects only the boxer, not the gear. No liability is included either : liability is covered by your federation licence or home insurance. For gear, you can add the Baggage option.

In the event of an injury during training, sparring or competition, you must strictly follow the steps below:

  1. Contact the assistance service immediately

    Before incurring any medical expenses
, you must contact the assistance service using the number shown on your assistance card. The assistance service must give its prior approval before any hospitalization, medical procedure, medical transportation, repatriation or any other service covered by your policy.

  2. Follow the assistance service's instructions

Before incurring any expenses or taking any important steps
related to your medical care, wait for the assistance service's instructions and approval, except in life-threatening emergencies. The assistance service will direct you to the healthcare facility best suited to your situation and, whenever possible, to a facility within its network of partner providers. It will then organize your care in accordance with the coverage provided by your policy. Assistance services can only be provided with the prior approval of the assistance service. Consequently, any expenses incurred on your own initiative, without prior approval, will not be eligible for reimbursement.

  3. Keep all supporting documents

Keep all documents related to your injury
, including the initial medical certificate, medical reports, prescriptions, examination results, invoices and any other supporting documents. These will be essential for the assessment and processing of your claim.
