Why is Sled Race insurance essential?

Sled racing blends speed and extreme cold: a team launched at over 30 km/h on narrow trails, possible contact with the dogs and long events where focus drops. Standard licences and contracts cover these accidents poorly, and treatment and rehabilitation costs pile up fast after a fall.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical costs, evacuation, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your plan, in Sprint as in Mid Distance or Pulka. You can then take on every event with a free mind.

If you are injured during training, an outing or a race, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical spending, call the assistance line shown on your card: its prior agreement is required before any hospitalisation, procedure, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow its instructions. Unless there is a life-threatening emergency, wait for its go-ahead before incurring costs; it directs you to the most suitable facility and arranges your care.

3. Keep every supporting document. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions and invoices are essential to process your claim.
