Hour 18, legs gone, what if you crash now?

June mud and Eastnor roots after twenty laps

One downpour can turn the course into a mud bath, and the same roots you cleared on lap one catch tired arms on lap twenty. Shoulders, wrists and ribs take the hits. Medical costs up to €150,000 pay for treatment, hospital care and surgery after an accident.

icon Transport et rapatriement

3 a.m., one light and one lap too many

At night you ride alone in the beam of your light, just when concentration fades and the trees all look the same. If an accident stops you, assistance and repatriation at actual cost organise your evacuation from the course and your return home, whether that's Bristol, Lille or anywhere else.

icon Option compétition

Solo or relay, a real race needs the Competition option

Mountain Mayhem is a proper race, with solo and team rankings. The Competition option covers you in official competition at the event and then all season long, from endurance races to cross-country rounds, all under one policy.

icon Capital invalidité

Lasting injury after a sleepless crash, up to €200,000

After a night without sleep, reactions slow down and a fall can mean a blow to the head or back. The permanent disability benefit of up to €200,000 is paid if the accident leaves permanent impairment, to help adapt your home or make up for lost income.

Sleep, mud and a dying light are the real opponents

Solo riders often start too fast and pay for it around midnight. Team riders do hard laps followed by long, cold waits without eating properly. Half-charged lights, tyres that can't cope with mud and sheer lack of sleep do the rest, especially on technical sections in the small hours.

A 24-hour race takes months of preparation, from long rides to cross-country sessions and night laps. The right mountain bike insurance protects you through all of it, in training and racing, at home or abroad, whatever your country of residence. It won't refund your entry or your travel, but it covers you.
