Frozen roots and broken collarbones, care up to €150,000

In the dark, a frosted root or an icy rut can throw you over the bars in a heartbeat. Collarbones, wrists and knees take the hit. Medical costs are covered up to €150,000, including hospital stays and surgery, whether you are treated in Scotland or back home.

Getting off a forest trail in the dead of night

An injured rider deep in the woods in the small hours, in sub-zero temperatures, needs to be moved quickly. The assistance team arranges evacuation from the accident site and your journey home afterwards. Assistance and repatriation are paid at actual cost, wherever you live.

icon Option compétition

Timed laps mean racing, and racing needs the Competition option

The Strathpuffer is a timed event ranked on laps completed, and many leisure policies exclude official competition. The Competition option covers you in the race itself and in every other event of your mountain bike season, from endurance rounds to cross-country.

icon Capital invalidité

When fatigue blurs the line at dawn

By sunrise, tired eyes misjudge a line and a crash can leave lasting damage. If an accident results in permanent disability, a lump sum of up to €200,000 is paid according to the assessed rate, helping you adapt your home, your work or your daily life.

Why does a winter night in the Highlands catch riders out?

Crashes at the Strathpuffer rarely happen on lap one. They come after midnight, when fingers go numb, batteries fade and the mud freezes into ruts. First-timers go out too hard, underestimate black ice on the descents and forget to eat. The damp Highland cold wears riders down as much as the climbing does.

That risk does not end in January. Forest loops, spring enduro races, summer bike park days: most mountain bike injuries happen in training, far from any medical tent. Good mountain bike insurance built on individual accident cover follows you all year, at home and abroad, whatever your country of residence.
