Bare slopes, fast descents and cover that stays upright

A turned ankle on a fast descent

The downhill sections are taken flat out on cold, often damp road. An ankle that rolls, a knee that gives, a fall inside a tight group, and the costs climb through scans and theatre time. Medical costs are covered up to €150,000.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Fifteen kilometres from home, a journey back arranged

The field is strongly international and many travel home the same evening. If an injury keeps you in a Dutch hospital, assistance and repatriation cover the evacuation from where the accident happened and the trip back to your own address, at real cost.

icon Option compétition

Chasing a record pace without losing your cover

People come here for a time, and the race is chipped and ranked. That is exactly the wording many policies use to refuse a claim. The Competition option protects your November 15 km and every other race you enter across the season.

icon Capital invalidité

Up to €200,000 when a descent leaves lasting damage

A fracture that heals badly, a cruciate ligament torn on a downhill stride, a head injury in a crowded pack. If the accident leads to permanent disability, a capital sum of up to €200,000 is paid towards everything the injury changes.

Rolling ground that empties the legs before halfway

Fifteen kilometres sounds manageable until the climbs arrive one after another. Runners push too hard uphill, then let go on the descents, loading quadriceps and patellar tendons with every stride. Add five degrees, a fine drizzle and muscles that never warmed up properly, and tears happen without any warning.

Distance running fills the whole year, usually alone and without crowds. Icy December runs, hill repeats and heavy weeks carry more exposure than one Sunday with a bib. Our long-distance running insurance follows you in training and in competition, wherever in the world you live.

FAQ

What runners ask before the seven climbs

Yes. The contract draws no line between a fall on a descent, a collapse on a climb and an injury in the finish area. All of them sit under the same individual accident cover.

Yes. Cover applies in the Netherlands and everywhere else, and does not depend on where you live. It also runs during the training weeks at home before you travel out.

No. AxeoSport provides individual accident insurance, not cancellation cover. Neither the entry nor the travel is reimbursed. What is insured is bodily injury suffered while you are training or racing.

By rehearsing descents as seriously as climbs. Plenty of runners arrive here having never raced a gradient, and it is the eccentric loading of downhill running that triggers most muscle damage.

It varies with the length of cover, the sport you declare and whether you add the Competition option. The online quote shows the premium in a few minutes, with no obligation to subscribe.
