Why is traditional crosse insurance essential?

Traditional crosse is played with a wooden stick and a hard ball, on open ground and often with little protective gear. Sticks meet at speed, the ball flies low and fast, and duels for possession bring hands, shins and faces into contact. Even in a friendly game, a stick blow to the fingers, a ball impact or a fall on hard ground can cause a fracture or a sprain. Yet a club membership does not always cover the real costs, especially in case of surgery or a long rehabilitation.

A personal accident insurance takes over: it complements your membership, reimburses the expenses left at your charge and follows you in England as abroad, in practice as in tournaments. You can keep playing with a free mind, knowing the unexpected is covered.

Traditional crosse is the historical game, played with a wooden stick on open ground. Lacrosse is its modern codified version, with a netted stick, marked pitches and protective gear. Both are covered, each with its own dedicated page. Discover our plans.

No, it complements your licence. A federation licence is still required to train in affiliated clubs and enter official competitions. Our cover strengthens your protection with higher limits on medical expenses, repatriation and disability.

Our insurance covers the player, not the gear. Liability is not included either: it falls under your club or your home insurance. For your equipment when travelling, the baggage option can complete your cover.

If you are injured during training, a game or a tournament, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
