Why is high jump insurance essential?

The high jump combines a curved run-up, a powerful one-foot take-off and a Fosbury flop over the bar, with a landing on the back. The extreme extension at take-off and the back-first reception place heavy strain on the ankles, back and neck, and a mistimed take-off or a bad landing causes ankle sprains, lumbago, neck trauma and contusions. Even in training, the repetition of jumps takes its toll. A federation licence and standard contracts cover these accidents poorly, and the costs of care and rehabilitation add up.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical costs, care, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your guarantees, in training and in World Athletics competition. You can progress with a free mind.

If you are injured in training or in competition, follow these steps.

1. Contact assistance first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance line on your card: its prior agreement is required before any hospitalisation, procedure, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow its instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its agreement before incurring costs; it directs you to the most suitable facility and organises your care.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions and invoices are essential to process your claim.

The high jump is a single-foot take-off over a bar with no equipment, while the pole vault uses a pole to reach much greater heights. Whatever your discipline, we cover the high jump as well as the long jump and the pole vault.
