Personal accident insurance for recreational luge

Medical expenses

Up to €150,000 for your medical expenses: hospitalisation, surgery, everyday care and rehabilitation. Fractured wrist, knee injury, head impact or broken collarbone: sledging injuries are covered, from the first medical appointment to your return to the slopes.

Transport and repatriation

Medical transport and repatriation covered at actual cost, wherever you practise around the world. Rescue on a mountain run, evacuation by sledge or helicopter, or accident in a resort abroad: we organise your transport to the most suitable facility and then your journey home, without you advancing the costs.

Competition option

A dedicated competition option for organised events. Village races, resort challenges, fun contests and club events are covered, whatever your level, with the same guarantees as in free riding and no extra paperwork.

Disability benefit

Up to €200,000 paid in the event of permanent disability. If an accident leaves lasting after-effects, this capital helps you adapt your daily life, your home or your professional activity. A long-term protection, for you and for your loved ones.

Why is luge insurance essential?

Sledging looks harmless, yet speeds rise fast on hard snow and steering is limited. A collision with another sledge, an exit off the run into a tree or a bump taken too fast can cause a fractured wrist, a knee injury, a head impact or a broken collarbone. Children and adults are affected alike, and mountain rescue costs add up quickly. Yet a lift pass or a holiday insurance does not always cover the real costs, especially in case of surgery or a long rehabilitation.

A personal accident insurance takes over: it reimburses the expenses left at your charge and covers rescue, transport and repatriation. You can enjoy every descent with a free mind, knowing the unexpected is covered. Please note: this cover concerns recreational sledging, not olympic luge on an artificial track.

No, this cover concerns recreational luge. Sledging on marked runs, snow trails and in resorts is covered, but not olympic luge on an artificial track, which is a high-speed discipline with its own specific framework. Discover our plans.

No, it complements your licence. A federation licence is still required to train in affiliated clubs and enter official competitions. Our cover strengthens your protection with higher limits on medical expenses, repatriation and disability.

Our insurance covers the person, not the sledge. Liability is not included either: it falls under your home insurance. For your equipment when travelling, the baggage option can complete your cover.

If you are injured during training, a descent or a race, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
