Why insure your longboarding practice?

Longskating is practiced downhill, sometimes on roads open to traffic, at speeds that can exceed 40mph. A poorly handled bump or speed wobble can cause a violent fall on the pavement. Fractures and extensive road rash are common during an uncontrolled slide. Standard licences and contracts cover these accidents poorly, and treatment costs rise quickly if repatriation or surgery is needed.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical costs, transport, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your guarantees, whether at training or in competition. You can then ride downhill with a free mind.

In the event of an injury during a longskate session or race, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
