Why insure your freebord practice?

Freebording is a downhill sport, often practiced on urban slopes shared with traffic. The speeds reached during carved turns increase the risk of a violent fall on the pavement. Protective gear limits injuries but doesn't prevent fractures or trauma during a loss of control. Standard licences and contracts cover these accidents poorly, and treatment costs rise quickly if repatriation or surgery is needed.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical costs, transport, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your guarantees, whether at training or in competition. You can then ride downhill with a free mind.

In the event of an injury during a freebord session or race, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
