Why is Brazilian jiu-jitsu insurance essential?

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is built on ground fighting: guards, passes, sweeps, joint locks and chokes. Submissions place extreme strain on the elbows, shoulders and knees, and a lock pushed too far or a badly negotiated pass causes hyperextensions, sprains and dislocations. Even in training, the pace of sparring rounds takes its toll. A federation licence and standard contracts cover these accidents poorly, and the costs of care and rehabilitation add up.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical costs, care, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your guarantees, at the academy and in IBJJF competition. You can progress with a free mind.

1. Contact assistance first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance line on your card: its prior agreement is required before any hospitalisation, procedure, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow its instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its agreement before incurring costs; it directs you to the most suitable facility and organises your care.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions and invoices are essential to process your claim.
