Disability benefit

Up to €200,000 per person. Hot air balloon landings (no precise directional control, wind-dependent) can be violent in strong wind or uneven terrain. Power-line contacts (fatal electrocution risk) and propane-burner burns (1-2 metre flames at 1000°C) among major risks.

Why is Hot Air Balloon insurance essential?

The hot air balloon, invented by the Montgolfier brothers in 1783, remains the oldest aerial flight mode still practised. The pilot has no directional control (the balloon follows the wind) and only masters the vertical via the burner and the valve. The Lorraine Mondial Air Ballons (Chambley, record of 1000+ balloons taking off simultaneously) and the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta are the great references. Risks are specific: violent landings in strong wind, power-line contact and burns from the burner flame.
