Why insure your décalade practice?

Decalade means running face-first down a vertical wall: the harness pulls from behind, the brain fights the void and a badly managed rope or landing turns into impact against the wall. Standard contracts cover this atypical discipline poorly, and care costs add up quickly after a fall.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical expenses, evacuation, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your guarantees, in initiation as at urban events. You can then run down every wall with a free mind.

If you are injured during a decalade descent or event, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
