Why is competitive alpine ski insurance essential?

Competitive alpine skiing exposes you to high speeds (slalom 60 km/h, downhill 100+ km/h) and high-energy impacts. ACL ruptures, tibia fractures, long knee surgeries and head trauma are frequent in races. A federation licence opens competitions but its caps may be insufficient for complex surgery and long rehab.

This page specifically handles competitive alpine skiing : slalom, giant, super-G, downhill, freestyle. Generic ski insurance covers recreation and off-piste without Competition option. If you race in a club or take part in timed events, the Competition option is essential.

The federation licence grants access to official competitions with limited base insurance caps. For a competitive alpine skier, medical costs can far exceed those caps with complex surgery. AXEOSPORT complements with reinforced caps (€150,000 care, €200,000 disability).

Our personal accident insurance protects only the skier. Race skis, boots, helmet, back protector and pads : add the Baggage option to cover theft, loss or damage. No liability is included : it is covered by your federation licence. For more details, see our Plans page.
