A long downhill run through hairpins takes a toll on the brakes of an older car. When the pedal goes long into a tight bend, leaving the road becomes a real risk, with fractures and trauma to follow. Medical costs up to €150,000 cover treatment, hospital stays and surgery.
The high valleys of Vorarlberg are beautiful but far from major hospitals, and rescue teams take time to reach a hairpin at altitude. Assistance and repatriation at actual cost organise evacuation from the scene and your return home, wherever you live.
The Silvretta Classic ranks crews on timed regularity tests. To be guaranteed in official competition, the Competition option is added to your policy: it covers this Alpine rally and the rest of your season, in Austria and abroad.
A steep drop beside a reservoir, a low parapet on a mountain bridge: at this altitude, leaving the road can have serious consequences. Permanent disability capital up to €200,000 provides a lump sum to rebuild daily life after a permanent impairment.
Crews leave the valley early, climb above 2,000 metres and come back down into the heat, facing big temperature swings in cars that are sometimes open-topped. Tight hairpins demand constant attention, the co-driver's navigation leaves no breathing space, and fatigue builds from one day to the next. Mistakes tend to come late in the stage.
Beyond the Silvretta Classic, the season includes other Alpine rallies, club outings and set-up days. AxeoSport cover applies in training and in competition, in France and abroad, whatever your country of residence. See the full cover for drivers and co-drivers on our historic rally insurance page.
Based in the Montafon, the Silvretta Classic sends classic cars along the Alpine roads of Vorarlberg, including the famous Silvretta High Alpine Road and its hairpins. It is a historic regularity rally where the high mountain scenery matters as much as the results.
