Taking on Burghley's 200 obstacles? Here is what has your back

Bad landing off a wall, treatment up to €150,000

Across 200-plus obstacles, falls from height, ankles rolled on landing and fingers caught in nets are common. Mud hides holes and roots. Your medical costs up to €150,000 pay for emergency care, X-rays, casts, hospital stays and surgery if the injury calls for it.

Injured deep in the parkland? Evacuation and the trip home

The course winds across a large estate where emergency vehicles cannot reach every corner quickly. Assistance and repatriation at actual cost organise your evacuation from where the accident happened, then your return home, whether that is down the road in Lincolnshire or across the Channel.

icon Option compétition

Chasing a time or just the team photo? The Competition Option decides

Some people run Burghley for the clock, others for the shared challenge. If you are going for a ranking in a timed wave, the Competition Option covers you in official competition during the Dirty Weekend and in every other obstacle race on your calendar this season.

icon Capital invalidité

Spine, knee or shoulder damaged for good: up to €200,000

A bad fall from a rig or a high wall can cause lasting harm to the spine, a knee or a shoulder. If permanent disability is recognised, the permanent disability benefit of up to €200,000 is paid at the assessed rate, to adapt your home or offset lost earnings.

Thirty-two kilometres in, the obstacles start to bite

Over 32 km it is rarely the first obstacles that hurt people, it is the last ones, when grip fades and concentration drops. Water crossings in May chill you quickly, slick slopes trap ankles, and plenty of beginners underestimate how far it is between feed stations. Pacing yourself early pays off later.

Obstacle racing is a year-round sport: strength work, climbing, trail runs and other muddy races at weekends. Obstacle race insurance that applies in training as well as racing, at home or abroad, covers all of that work, not just one weekend at Burghley. It suits racers who pin on several race numbers a season.

FAQ

Dirty Weekend questions from people on the start list

Yes. Personal accident insurance is individual, so each teammate takes out cover in their own name. Everyone then has their own medical costs, assistance and repatriation, even if you cross the line together.

No. AxeoSport does not offer cancellation insurance: entry, transport and accommodation are not refunded. The policy protects your body if you have an accident, not your booking.

Cover applies whatever your country of residence. A participant from France or Belgium is covered for medical costs in England and, after a serious injury, for repatriation all the way home.

The amount depends on your profile and the options you choose. The online quote shows your price in moments, with no commitment, and you can take out cover before setting off for Burghley.
