Headlamps, skins, 3,000 metres of climbing and solid cover

icon Frais médicaux

Night descents on hard piste, up to €150,000 in medical costs

Downhill, a headlamp shortens what you can see and groomed pistes harden as the evening cools. At speed on featherweight skis, a caught edge can mean a broken leg or a dislocated shoulder. Your medical expenses, up to €150,000, cover treatment and surgery in Austria.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Collapsing at the top of a climb, brought home at actual cost

January cold, maximum effort on the climbs and skipped drinks can trigger a collapse far from the valley. Assistance and repatriation at actual cost covers evacuation from where it happens and the journey back to your home, wherever you live.

icon Option compétition

Bib on in Saalbach, the Competition option covers your season

Mountain Attack is a timed race, and for many entrants it is one stop in a winter of ski mountaineering events. The Competition option covers you in official competition, here and at every other race on your calendar, in Austria, Switzerland or beyond.

icon Capital invalidité

After a bad crash, disability capital up to €200,000

Late-race fatigue, fast final descents and traffic on the piste: serious crashes are not just someone else's problem. If one leaves lasting damage, permanent disability capital of up to €200,000 helps you cope, adapt your daily life and get back on your feet.

When January cold settles on the Saalbach pistes

The classic Mountain Attack mistake is matching the leaders on the first climb, then paying for it in the dark. Transitions happen with frozen fingers, headlamp batteries fade faster in the cold, and focus drops just as the quickest descents arrive. Add a crowded start and hard evening snow, and small errors escalate.

Ski mountaineering is not one evening's race. It is built over a whole winter: dawn laps before work, off-piste weekends, perhaps high-mountain tours in spring. Our ski mountaineering insurance covers those training days as well as competitions, at home and abroad, wherever the skins take you.

FAQ

What ski mountaineers ask before Saalbach

Yes. Cover does not depend on the time of day. A fall on a headlamp-lit descent or a collapse in the evening cold triggers exactly the same guarantees as an incident in broad daylight.

An accidental injury during a transition, such as a fall while stepping out of your bindings, falls under the same guarantees as the race itself: medical expenses up to €150,000, assistance and repatriation, and disability capital if lasting damage remains.

No. AxeoSport provides individual accident insurance, not cancellation insurance. Neither your entry fee nor your accommodation in Saalbach is refunded. The policy only responds to bodily injury, in training or in competition.

Yes. Your country of residence makes no difference. Whether you travel from France, Germany or the UK, cover applies in Austria on race night and during your reconnaissance outings in the days before.

The price varies with your profile, the length of cover and whether you add the Competition option. Run an online quote to see an exact figure before you register for the race.
