Four guarantees for a windy flat course beside the Baltic

icon Frais médicaux

A crash on the bridge, medical costs up to €150,000

The bridge crossing happens in packs, in a crosswind that pushes wheels sideways without warning. Broken collarbones and shoulder trauma are the classic outcome, and medical costs are covered up to €150,000, from emergency transport through surgery to follow-up rehabilitation.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Evacuation and repatriation on open island roads

On Öland the straights run for kilometres between farmland and shoreline, with no shelter and nowhere to stop. After an accident, assistance and repatriation work at actual cost, arranging evacuation and then the journey home from Sweden.

icon Option compétition

Official racing covered, from Kalmar to your whole year

Most athletes come here chasing a benchmark time, after a season of build-up races and training camps. The Competition option covers racing in official competition on this event and across every other entry on your calendar, at home or abroad.

icon Capital invalidité

Disability capital of up to €200,000 at racing speed

A fast course is ridden fast, and leaving the road at speed does not always end lightly. The permanent disability capital can reach €200,000 depending on the assessed rate, funding lasting changes to daily life.

When the Öland wind turns a quick course against you

The Baltic stays cold even in August, and cold water stiffens the shoulders within minutes of the start. On the bike, a sidewind forces riders to sit close together, which multiplies contact inside the groups. The flat profile then tempts everyone into riding too hard, and the marathon collects the debt.

Between two long-distance races a triathlete spends the year on open roads, in public pools and on group rides, where accidents happen with nobody watching. Year-round triathlon insurance steps in for those sessions as well as for your other race numbers, at home or at a foreign start line.
