Why insure your horse racing practice?

Horse racing involves very high speeds, packed starts and contact between horses that multiply the risk of falls, particularly during gallop races. A fall at high speed can cause head trauma, fractures or serious injuries, for both jockey and driver. Standard licences and classic contracts cover these accidents poorly, and medical costs climb quickly after a serious injury.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical costs, transport, rehabilitation and disability are covered depending on your guarantees, during training as in racing. You can race every heat with a free mind.

In case of injury while horse racing, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
