Protection built for ramps, bridges and wet stone

icon Frais médicaux

An ankle turned on a wet ramp, €150,000 of care

The last two kilometres cross wooden ramps laid over bridge steps, slippery after thirty-nine kilometres and an autumn drizzle. A sprain, a fracture or a blow to the head can end the day there, and medical costs are covered up to €150,000.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Boat transfer, then home at actual cost

No ambulance drives through Venice. An injured runner leaves by water and then by road, which stretches the whole chain of care. Assistance arranges evacuation and repatriation at actual cost, from the quayside to your own address, whatever country that is in.

icon Option compétition

Chip-timed over 42 km, the Competition option

Both the marathon and the 10 km are timed and ranked, which makes them official competition. The Competition option covers competitive racing on this autumn bib and right through the season, from winter road races to your next spring marathon.

icon Capital invalidité

Hard stone, lasting damage, up to €200,000

A fall on Venetian paving or on the concrete of the causeway can leave a knee, shoulder or wrist permanently weaker. The permanent disability benefit reaches €200,000, assessed on the recognised level, when the consequences do not go away.

Where this flat, fast course catches people out

The route is flat and quick, which tempts runners into a reckless first half along the Brenta. Then comes the causeway: long, straight and completely open to the lagoon wind, often in late October rain. A chilled body handles bridge steps badly, and that is exactly where an ankle gives way or a quad cramps solid.

A marathon is decided in the four months before it. Long runs in the dark, threshold sessions on wet tarmac, a tune-up half at race pace: injury risk runs through the whole block, not just one Sunday in Venice. Our marathon insurance covers all of those sessions as well as race day.

FAQ

Runner questions before the Stra start

Yes. Guarantees apply across the whole official route, from Stra to the Venetian quays, including the four kilometres of causeway and the wooden ramps over the final bridges.

The 10 km is timed and ranked, so it counts as official competition. The option covers that practice on this bib and for the rest of your road racing season.

No. It is not a cancellation policy. Your bib, train and hotel are not reimbursed. The cover deals with the bodily consequences of an accident, in training as well as in the race.

Because quays and bridges cannot be reached by ambulance or car. Evacuation combines boat and road transport, and assistance at actual cost takes care of that chain and of your journey home afterwards.

The price depends on the formula, the period you choose and options such as the Competition guarantee. The online quote returns an exact figure in minutes, before you travel to Italy.
