Why insure your trail hiking practice?

A marked trail is reassuring, yet most hiking accidents happen there: a sprain far from the trailhead, a fall on a wet slope, hypothermia when the weather turns or dehydration in summer. Evacuation from a remote path costs a lot, and standard contracts rarely cover it.

Cover made for hiking removes that worry: medical expenses, evacuation and transport, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your guarantees, on a day walk as on a long trek. Pack your bag, we carry the risk.

If you are injured during a hike or trek, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
