Kiters on snow: what to settle before Haugastøl

icon Frais médicaux

Dragged across the ice by a gust, care up to €150,000

On the plateau, the wind can build without warning and an overpowered kite can lift you or drag you across hard, icy snow. A dislocated shoulder, a broken wrist or cracked ribs are handled by medical cover up to €150,000 for treatment, hospital stays and surgery.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Snowmobile, helicopter, then home at actual cost

A 20 km loop on a roadless plateau quickly takes you far from any first-aid post. Injured riders are often picked up by snowmobile or helicopter. Assistance and repatriation at actual cost cover that evacuation, the transfer to hospital and your journey back home.

icon Option compétition

Five timed laps that need the Competition option

The Ragnarok has a start, timed laps and a ranking, which makes it an official competition, something many policies exclude. The Competition option covers you over these five laps, then for the other official races in your season, on snow or on water.

icon Capital invalidité

Back injury after an unplanned lift, €200,000 lump sum

A gust that lifts you and drops you from several metres can cause a spinal fracture or a head injury with lasting effects. In the event of permanent disability, a lump sum of up to €200,000 helps you adapt your home, your work and your daily routine.

Whiteout, rising wind and biting cold

On the Hardangervidda, April weather turns fast. A whiteout flattens the terrain, the wind can strengthen sharply within minutes, and the cold numbs the hands on the bar. Amateurs get caught out by a kite that is too big, fatigue they fail to manage on the fourth lap, or frostbite they ignore.

The rest of the year, you ride on water in summer and on snow in winter, often far from any supervision. Kitesurf insurance covers you in training and in competition, in Norway, at home or abroad, whatever your country of residence, from your local spot to a long winter crossing.
