Amateur skiers in the start-line scrum: what is at stake

Knee twist in heavy spring snow, care up to €150,000

After the uphill run your legs are burning, and the descent starts in a crowd. A ski crossing your neighbour's, heavy spring snow, and the knee twists. Medical cover up to €150,000 pays for consultations, MRI scans, hospital stays and ligament surgery when you need it.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Off the slope on a sled, then home at actual cost

With 1,500 skiers on the same slope, an injured racer has to be taken off the course quickly, often by sled or helicopter. Assistance and repatriation at actual cost handle the evacuation, any hospital stay in Austria and your return home, wherever you live.

icon Option compétition

Official timing and rankings: why the Competition option counts

The Homerun may feel like a party, but it is a timed race with rankings, and official competition is often excluded from ordinary policies. The Competition option covers you for this March race and for every other official race in your ski season.

icon Capital invalidité

Long-term effects of a high-speed fall, €200,000 lump sum

A high-speed fall on the descent or a collision with another racer can leave an unstable knee, a stiff shoulder or more serious injuries. If permanent disability is recognised, a lump sum of up to €200,000 helps you adapt your everyday life and your work.

Too fast on the climb, too wild on the way down

The classic Homerun mistake happens on the way up. Carried along by the mass-start buzz, amateurs sprint, go into the red and start the descent with burning thighs. Add March snow that changes by the hour, hundreds of skiers around you and patchy visibility, and a fall becomes likely.

The rest of the winter, between resort days, off-piste outings and other races, the risk does not go away. Alpine ski insurance covers you in training and in competition, in Austria, France or anywhere else, whatever your country of residence, from the first snowfall to the end of the season.
