Transport and repatriation

Mermaiding option

The Mermaiding add-on covers PADI Mermaid certifications (Basic, Advanced, Instructor), commercial performances (aquatic parks, events, weddings, underwater photography), the Mermaid Olympics, the World Mermaid Awards and world mermaid festivals.

Disability benefit

Up to €200,000 per person. Mermaiding combines prolonged performance apnea (legs bound in a rigid tail make it impossible to exit the pool quickly), hypoxic blackout risks and pool-equipment blockages (drains, ladders) with the tail preventing a rapid escape. Commercial event performances multiply the risks.

Why is Mermaiding insurance essential?

Mermaiding, the practice of swimming in a mermaid tail, exploded from the 2010s with the democratisation of rigid monofin tails. PADI launched official certifications (Basic Mermaid, Advanced Mermaid, Mermaid Instructor) with schools in Mexico, Florida and the Maldives. The USA Mer-Folk Convention and the Mermaid Olympics became world rendezvous.
