Cold lake, English gradient, guarantees that hold up

icon Frais médicaux

Hypothermia at the swim exit, care up to €150,000

The lake stays cold in July and athletes often reach transition with early hypothermia, clumsy hands and poor balance. Falls, sprains and cuts follow easily, and medical costs are covered up to €150,000, including emergency treatment, hospital admission and surgery.

Help within reach on walled Yorkshire lanes

Yorkshire lanes run between dry stone walls and carry loose gravel washed out by rain. If a crash leaves you stranded far from a hospital, assistance and repatriation work at actual cost, from the evacuation to the journey back home.

icon Option compétition

This English number and the ones that follow, in competition

A qualifying slot or a personal best is built across several races, in England and elsewhere. The Competition option covers racing in official competition on this event and right through the season, from spring half distances to late-summer triathlons.

icon Capital invalidité

Lasting damage from a stone-walled descent, up to €200,000

On a wet descent lined with stone, a crash can leave damage that never fully heals. The permanent disability capital can reach €200,000 depending on the assessed rate, so you can adapt your home, your vehicle or your working life.

An English July can turn in a single rain shower

Yorkshire weather changes within the hour, and warm rain is enough to make descents slick and braking unreliable. The lake, meanwhile, catches out anyone who has not trained in cold water. Many then begin the marathon with their fuelling plan in ruins, which brings stumbles, dizziness and worse as the hours pass.

Across the rest of the year the kilometres happen on open roads, in the pool and on trails, with no marshals and no medical post. Year-round triathlon insurance covers that training and travels with you to your other races, in your own country or at a start line abroad.
