A sea start, a windy plain, cover across all three legs

icon Frais médicaux

Medical bills to €150,000 after a knock at sea or on the road

The sea swim happens in a tight pack, with swell on some mornings, and the bike leg rolls fast over flat roads. One impact, one fall, and you need a proper hospital. Your medical costs are covered up to €150,000, surgery and inpatient care included.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Out of the water, then back to your own country

Stopping with an injury twenty kilometres from transition, or offshore from the beach, needs organising immediately. Assistance and repatriation are covered at real cost, from the evacuation itself to the journey back to where you live.

icon Option compétition

Age-group rankings on 226 km, properly covered

On a race this popular with European athletes, you are chasing a time, an age-group place, sometimes a qualifying slot. The Competition option covers official racing here and over the whole of your season, training weeks included.

icon Capital invalidité

Lasting consequences after the bike leg, €200,000

Long straight roads keep you in the aero position for hours, and an impact at that speed can leave damage that does not heal. In that case a permanent disability capital of up to €200,000 is paid out to help you handle the long term.

What a visiting athlete should settle before Cervia

The flat profile is deceptive. You ride faster than you do in training, the wind off the plain tires your shoulders, and the marathon still runs into September warmth. Plenty of athletes get their hydration wrong on the third leg, and that is where the collapses happen, often a long way from the finish village.

An IRONMAN takes a year of work, in the pool, in open water and on the road. Most accidents happen during that build, not on race day. Our triathlon insurance covers you in training and in competition, in Italy and at home, whatever country you live in.

FAQ

What entrants ask before a long distance in Italy

Yes. All three legs fall under the cover, including the open-water swim from the beach at Cervia. Course recon swims and rides you do while you are there are covered as well.

The race is traditionally held in September, but the next edition is still to be confirmed. Check the official calendar before you book, then take out cover for the dates of your trip.

No. This is personal accident insurance, not cancellation insurance: entry, hotel and flights stay your own expense. What we cover is the consequences of a bodily accident.

It applies whatever country you live in. You sign up online before you travel, you are covered in the race and in training, and assistance and repatriation are paid at real cost.

It depends on the formula, how long you need the cover and whether the Competition option is added, which is worth it on a ranked race. The online quote gives the exact price in minutes.
