Take on the Atlantic with your treatment covered

icon Frais médicaux

Swell on the start line, €150,000 of medical care

The October Atlantic is cool and short swell can build on the bay within hours. Swallowed water, a clash of arms in a packed field or creeping cold all end in hospital assessment. Your medical costs are covered up to €150,000.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Help on a windswept coast road, then the way home

The roads that climb inland and skirt the shoreline catch the full Atlantic wind, and a crash there can leave you a long way from the nearest emergency unit. Assistance and repatriation are covered at actual cost, right through to your own front door.

icon Option compétition

Timed bib, Competition option switched on

With roughly 2,500 starters and published age-group results, this 70.3 is official competition in full. Recreational policies stop short of a start line like that. The Competition option covers competitive racing, here and across the rest of your year.

icon Capital invalidité

€200,000 when the injury does not heal fully

A fall on a technical descent can leave a shoulder unstable or a leg permanently weaker. The permanent disability capital goes up to €200,000, money that pays for long rehabilitation, changes at work and the income you no longer earn.

Should you worry about October swell and the Guincho wind?

Two elements make this race hard. The ocean first: short swell breaks up your stroke and tires shoulders before you even reach the bike. Then the wind, which blows steadily along this coast and taxes every acceleration, especially on the fast run back down towards the water where the bike needs holding straight.

For the other eleven months you swim in a pool, ride on open roads and run in any weather. That volume is where injuries really happen, far more than the few hours of a race. Annual triathlon insurance covers those sessions as well as your bibs, at home and in Portugal.

FAQ

Before the start, what entrants want to know

Yes. The swim is covered like the bike and the run. Swallowed salt water, a blackout or a heavy contact between swimmers all open the right to have your medical costs paid.

Yes. It applies whatever country you live in, at home and abroad. Assistance arranges medical transport and, if your condition requires it, the journey home at actual cost.

No. This is personal accident insurance, not cancellation insurance. It pays for the bodily consequences of an accident and never for an entry fee, a flight or a hotel booked on the coast.

Yes. The date makes no difference. As soon as there is official timing and a ranking, you are racing in competition, and the Competition option covers those starts here and all season.

The price depends on how long you want to be insured, the guarantees you choose and your level of practice. The online quote shows the figure in a few minutes, with no commitment.
