Why insure your Icelandic horse riding practice?

Icelandic riding races the flying pace at 45 km/h on oval tracks: gait transitions demanding constant balance, spirited horses and long treks across wild terrain. Licences and standard contracts cover these accidents poorly, and care costs climb quickly after a fall at speed.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical expenses, transport, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your guarantees, on treks as at championships. You can then enjoy every tolt with a free mind.

If you are injured during Icelandic riding or a competition, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
