Why is aerobatics insurance essential?

Aerobatics means loops, rolls, spins and stall turns flown close to the limits of the airframe and of the body. Positive and negative G-forces strain the neck and the spine, disorientation is never far away, and the margin for error is measured in seconds. Even in training, a hard landing or a rough sequence can cause a back injury, a whiplash or worse. Yet a licence or a club membership does not always cover the real costs, especially in case of surgery or a long rehabilitation.

A personal accident insurance takes over: it complements your licence, reimburses the expenses left at your charge and follows you in England as abroad, in training as in competition. You can keep flying every figure with a free mind, knowing the unexpected is covered.

Aerobatics is flown in an aircraft: loops, rolls, spins and stall turns. Aerial acrobatics refers to circus disciplines performed on silks, hoop or trapeze. Both are covered, each with its own dedicated page. Discover our plans.

No, it complements your licence. A federation licence is still required to train in affiliated clubs and enter official competitions. Our cover strengthens your protection with higher limits on medical expenses, repatriation and disability.

Our insurance covers the pilot, not the aircraft. Liability and hull cover fall under the aircraft owner or the club. Our contract protects the person: medical expenses, repatriation and disability.

If you are injured during training, a flight or a contest, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.

The price depends on the plan you choose and the duration of cover. Get your online quote in just a few clicks.
