Why is aerial acrobatics insurance essential?

Aerial acrobatics combine strength, flexibility and height: drops on silks, inversions on hoop, catches on trapeze and holds on straps. Shoulders, wrists and lower back take repeated strain, rope burns are common, and a badly secured wrap or a slipped grip can lead to a fall of several metres. Even in a well-equipped studio, sprains, dislocations and back injuries happen. Yet a club membership does not always cover the real costs, especially in case of surgery or a long rehabilitation.

A personal accident insurance takes over: it complements your membership, reimburses the expenses left at your charge and follows you in England as abroad, in training as in performance. You can keep progressing and living your passion with a free mind, knowing the unexpected is covered.

No, it complements your licence. A federation licence is still required to train in affiliated clubs and enter official competitions. Our cover strengthens your protection with higher limits on medical expenses, repatriation and disability.

Our insurance covers the artist, not the gear or the rigging. Liability is not included either: it falls under your school, your company or your home insurance. For your equipment when travelling, the baggage option can complete your cover.

If you are injured during training, a rehearsal or a show, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical expense, call the assistance number shown on your card. Its prior approval is required before any hospitalisation, surgery, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow the assistance instructions. Except in a life-threatening emergency, wait for its approval before incurring costs. It will direct you to the most suitable facility and organise your care according to your cover. Expenses incurred without prior approval cannot be reimbursed.

3. Keep all your supporting documents. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions, test results and invoices: they are essential to process your claim.
