Twisted knee in the Larra limestone, care up to €150,000

Larra's limestone pavement, riddled with cracks and holes, can hide under thin February snow. A ski snags, the knee twists, and the season is over. Your medical expenses, up to €150,000, pay for treatment, hospital stays and surgery, on the French or the Spanish side.

icon Transport et rapatriement

Rescue from the Pic d'Anie ridges and the trip home

These ridges are remote and far from any road, so getting an injured skier down takes serious resources. Assistance and repatriation at actual cost handles evacuation from the scene of the accident and your return home, whether that is Pau, Pamplona or further afield.

icon Option compétition

Paired up with a bib, the Competition option for the whole winter

Racing as a pair often means a full calendar of team ski mountaineering events. The Competition option covers you in official competition, at the Altitoy-Ternua and at every race of your season, in the Pyrenees, the Alps or anywhere else.

icon Capital invalidité

Lasting injury after a downhill fall, capital up to €200,000

Descents on wind crust or breakable snow demand fresh legs, which are rare by the end of the course. A violent fall can leave permanent damage. Permanent disability capital of up to €200,000 is paid to the injured partner, regardless of what happens to the other.

Fog over Larra, a team of two, and the moment things unravel

Exposed to weather rolling in from the Atlantic, the Larra massif can disappear into fog within minutes, turning its limestone maze into a navigation test. Add a gap in fitness between partners, one pushing too hard to keep up, plus hurried transitions, and injuries tend to arrive late in the race.

Ski mountaineering is trained all winter, often as a pair, on dawn outings or long weekend tours in the Pyrenees. Every session brings the same falls and the same fatigue-driven mistakes. Our ski mountaineering insurance covers training as well as competition, in France and abroad.

FAQ

The questions teams ask before Larra

Yes. Individual accident insurance is personal: each member of the pair has their own policy and their own guarantees. If your partner gets hurt, their cover applies to them, and yours stays intact for you.

The border changes nothing. Whether you fall on the French slopes or on the Navarre side of the massif, medical expenses, evacuation and repatriation apply under exactly the same conditions.

No. This is not cancellation insurance. It does not refund your entry, travel or accommodation. It protects you physically, covering treatment, assistance, repatriation and disability capital after an accident in training or during the race.

Yes. Your ski mountaineering preparation is covered in the same way as the race itself, including course reconnaissance in the days beforehand, on the French side as well as the Spanish one.

Pricing depends on each person's profile and the length of cover, with or without the Competition option. Each partner can get an exact price through the online quote in just a few clicks.
