Why is Hapkido insurance essential?

Hapkido, a complete Korean martial art, combines throws, joint locks and dynamic kicks. Twists on the joints, falls to the ground and strikes cause sprains, dislocations, fractures and bruises. The variety of techniques multiplies the risk situations. Federation licences and standard contracts cover these accidents poorly, and treatment and rehabilitation costs pile up.

A dedicated personal accident insurance takes over: medical costs, care, rehabilitation and disability are covered according to your plan, at the dojang as at World Hapkido Federation seminars. You can then progress with a free mind.

If you are injured during a class, a seminar or a demonstration, follow these steps.

1. Contact the assistance service first. Before any medical spending, call the assistance line shown on your card: its prior agreement is required before any hospitalisation, procedure, medical transport or repatriation.

2. Follow its instructions. Unless there is a life-threatening emergency, wait for its go-ahead before incurring costs; it directs you to the most suitable facility and arranges your care.

3. Keep every supporting document. Initial medical certificate, reports, prescriptions and invoices are essential to process your claim.

Hapkido adds dynamic kicks and strikes to its throws and locks, while aikido stays with throws and joint control. For that discipline, see our aikido insurance.
